St. Mihiel Front

A German plane with a German Iron Cross on the lower left wing is crashed on the ground and in flames. Most of the outer covering of the plane is burnt and no longer there, while a few pieces on the back and left upper and lower wings is still not burnt. The frame of the plane is clearly visible. Black smoke rises from the middle of the plane and the tail is pointed upwards in the air. The ground is clear of any debris or organic material. There are trees in the background on the right side of the photograph. At the top of the photograph it reads, "St. Mihiel Front: Sept. 12-1918."
