Creator
Loemker, Herman J., 1868-1937
Description
This elevated view of the Mississippi River, railroad tracks and the Julian Dubuque Monument, was taken looking south, down river. A small railroad bridge is clearly visible. Four men have just walked north across the bridge. Closer to the foreground of the image, two groups of people may be seen. One group of men may have been repairing the tracks. Two small buildings are visible on the right side of the tracks. Row boats and other debris may be seen on the river bank across the tracks from the buildings. The number 1281 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
