Description
5 Allied soldiers, most likely American, are standing in a trench at the St. Mihiel Front in France during World War 1. The trench is slightly deeper than the men are tall. 4 of the men are looking at the photographer and 1 of them, who is on the right is holding and looking at an object. The ground above the trench is covered in grass and wild flower. There are wood pieces to the right that are holding one of the soldiers' jackets. Dirt is piled up on the left side of the photograph along the top of the trench.
