Sassey-sur-Meuse
Creator
Hoffman, Peter B.
Description
A stone church stands in the middle of the photograph partially behind a building that stands in front of it. The church has taken damage from a battle at Sassey-sur-Meuse during World War I. The roof of the church has large square chunks taken from it. The walls on the side of the church are partially gone, with much of the top missing. There are bricks that are missing from the steeple. The building in front has paint coming off the stones. The roof appears to have taken damage as well. There is much debris in front of the building and possible holes in the ground right in front. A small tree stands on the far right of the photograph. Partial buildings are on the left of the photograph that have taken damage with debris laying beneath them. A dirt road extends in front of the buildings and curves around and disappears in between the church and the buildings standing in front of it.
