German Mch Gun Empl - St. Mihiel Front
Title
German Mch Gun Empl - St. Mihiel Front
Creator
Hoffman, Peter B.
Description
A German machine gun employment area in the woods around the time of the St. Mihiel Front during the first World War. There is a German trench in the foreground that extends back and forks into two possible ways. To the right is a covered area that extends back into a bunker. The right side also goes back farther and then goes into the bunker, underneath the ground. On top of the trenches is a circular building made of presumably concrete. There are leaves covering the entire area and trees. There is a small square hole in the circular building that is facing the photographer. A narrow pipe of sorts is coming out of the window and resting on the bottom of the window. The pipe then goes down the ground and into the right side of the trench and into the bunker. There is also a possible fencing or netting that goes over the trench and bunker.
