Barbed Wire on St. Mihiel Front
Title
Barbed Wire on St. Mihiel Front
Creator
Hoffman, Peter B.
Description
Rows and sections of barbed wire line the once open field of the St. Mihiel Front during World War I. In the foreground are hundreds of lines of barbed wire going multiple ways to wooden or metal stakes in the ground that are holding it up. In the left side of the background, it can be seen that the barbed wire sections are almost striped on the field. The sections are a possible 10 feet from either side, and then an open field of 10 feet, and then another stripe of 10 feet of barbed wire that would make it difficult for someone to walk through and break into the opposing forces came or trench.
