Description
This hand-colored image shows a single wooden elevator car is visible at the top of the 4th Street Elevator in Dubuque, Iowa. Double tracks are visible, going down the steep bluff. Next to the elevator car is the upper ticket and boarding building. At the bottom of the tracks the lower boarding building may be seen. The roof of the lower building has been painted with a sign that reads ”Fine View Come Up Fare 5 cents.” The number 1260 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide
