Description
Built in 1886, a large brick building in Richardson Romanesque style, with four chimneys and several cupolas, dominates this image. The photographer has identified the building as the Illinois Central Depot. A covered platform is visible between the building and the railroad tracks. A baggage cart may be seen near the building. Two metal milk cans are on the cart. The building was demolished in the late 1940's. The number 1451 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
